Opera on the Internet www.operanut.com/radio.htm
This page is a list of some audio websites that offer operas or selections. To listen, you will need RealAudio (get the free version at the top of their page) and/or Windows Media Player (also free). For more information on the sites listed below, including a very detailed daily opera program, go to Operacast.com . This is an outstanding site, which also lists the contents of Classicalwebcast.com/ . For daily opera listings, also take a look at Opera World Broadcast Booth .
Click on the player code (e.g. W20S) to start transmission. The code indicates the type of player used (R is RealAudio, W is Windows Media Player), followed by a number giving the transmission speed in kbps, and finally whether the transmission is stereo (S) or monaural (M). The program schedule can be found by clicking on the first name. If you want to get to the station's home page, click on the location name. I generally omit stations that give me any trouble connecting. The Operacast.com site gives more detail.
